The breast detail is done in traditional Thuluth script, often reserved for formal mosque inscriptions & to illuminate Qur’anic verses. The back is inspired, freeform lettering—flowing like the Irish proverb (significant to the client) …may you always have the wind at your back... &, unspoken, may you also always keep the traditions which bore you close to your breast. This piece seeks to convey how a testament of faith is not what is proclaimed, but what is lived & embodied, moment by moment. Worn to red carpet event at Fez Music Festival, Morocco.
